Understanding the Referral Process
Beginning on November 30th, physicians and other individuals will
be able to use this website to obtain referrals to independent financial
advisers participating in the MedCentric Financial Network (MFN).
In referring you to our network of advisers, MFN is acting as a
solicitor pursuant to the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. This
act was written and passed by Congress to protect investors and
others seeking financial services, by requiring disclosure of detailed
information on the adviser, and on the financial relationship between
the adviser and the solicitor. This website was designed to be fully
compliant with these protective regulations.
To promote full disclosure, and to meet the requirements of the
Investment Adviser's Act, you will be guided through a three step
referral process:
In Step 1, you will be asked to provide some basic information
about yourself, including your full name and address, work phone
number, and your employer affiliation. This information will be
used by MFN and its affiliated advisers to fulfill the requirements
of the law, to track the referral process, and for quality control
purposes only. Your data will not be sold or rented to third parties,
or used for marketing purposes.
In Step 2, you will be provided with two important disclosure
documents. You must acknowledge receipt of these documents before
we can provide you with information on the adviser about whom you
have requested data. The two documents are:
Form ADV, Part II - provides detailed information on the
adviser's background, education, and business practices.
Fee Sharing Disclosure - outlines the fee-sharing arrangement
which exists between MedCentric Financial Network and its independent
advisers.
Please review each document carefully before acknowledging it.
You are encouraged to print both documents so that they are readily
available for future review. Since Form ADV, Part II is unique to
each adviser, you will be asked to provide an acknowledgement each
time you inquire about one of our advisers. A record of your acknowledgement
will be kept on file by MFN and by the adviser, and may be provided
to federal or state regulatory agencies if requested to verify compliance
with the Investment Adviser's Act.
Finally, in Step 3, you'll be provided with contact information
for the adviser you are inquiring about.
The whole process can be completed in a few minutes, and you will
only have to enter your personal information once.
